Financial and Relational Development: In the past we have indicated how NMJM involvement within the local community has brought significant exposure of our ministry to local area pastors. Our relationships with several area churches have been increasingly good, much in part due to the partnering ministry efforts that NMJM sponsors and leads. During this past year we mailed out a letter for the first time to women that have participated in the ladies retreats and asked them for financial support. The request was well received and as a result we anticipate making this an annual mailing to help with the support of our ministry. We also will be taking a love offering at the ladies retreat.
Leadership and Recruitment: Doug has continued the relationship with the “Hearts Alive & Free” leadership team and will be engaged with them in the next men’s weekend ministry on Feb. 25-28. This is the second year in a row that a winter time “Advanced Camp” venue, with about 50 to 60 men, will be held at Gull Lake Bible Conference near the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo area. The interaction between men coming to this camp, many of whom are in a leadership role within their own geographical areas of life and ministry, will result in deeper personal encounters with God, promote more genuine community, and will lead to increased personal spiritual transformation. Gary Barkalow is the featured speaker again this year and will take the message of God’s calling on our lives to a new level. More information is found at www.heartsaliveandfree.com. Promotion and Communications: - We are now beginning the promotion of the February 5-6, 2010 annual Ladies Retreat. It was 9 years ago that Lisa Lempke first began what has now become a tradition in the Traverse City area and NMJM is privileged to be the sponsor. The title this coming year is “Come Closer to Me” with nationally known featured speaker Jane Rubietta. See our web site for more information.
- Daily PSA’s continue to be created by Doug and then are recorded while making his regular visits to “headquarters” and visits with the radio station staff.
Seminars, Training Sessions, and Community Events: - The ninth women’s book study, based on the book “Captivating” is going on right now. Lisa was the guest speaker at Bay Pointe Community Church January 11, 2010 to introduce their Captivating class start up.
