Financial Support Philosophy

PERSPECTIVE:

The Northwest Michigan Jesus Ministry, (NMJM), operates under the auspices of Good News Media, Inc, and in partnership with WLJN Radio Station.  Therefore,  this ministry operates as a non profit entity and, although some income is derived from resource material sales, the primary funding will be from outside sources such as individual donors, businesses, churches, etc.

FINANCIAL NEEDS:

We have provided training sessions and seminars, (along with regular personal modeling of an evangelistic and disciplmaking community), and it is intended that these types of opportunities will continue.  Additional projects and community wide events, such as hosting the National Day of Prayer Breakfast locally, are where we are focusing our efforts.  With these endeavors there are expenses related to travel, advertising, office materials, mailings, printing, etc.   In keeping with our mission statement, the efforts are directed toward a collaborative relationship with local churches to provide a network of disciplemakers.

SUGGESTED ROLE OF CHURCHES:

Because NMJM seeks to minister in concert with the local churches in a six county wide area, and focuses on ways to function as the “supporting ligament” spoken of in Eph. 4:16, we are asking that individual churches consider donating $300, (or more, if possible), on an annual basis.

Possible ways that churches can give are:

1. A donation that would be a part of a church’s  mission giving program.
2.  A love gift / special project.
3.  Committing to a monthly donation of $25 or more each month, or $300 each year.

SUGGESTED ROLE OF INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATIONS:

Choosing to invest in NMJM on a regular basis annually, quarterly, or monthly would be an ideal way to partner with and stay regularly informed as to what is going on with this ministry.  Sending in a donation that is noted as a gift to address a particular event or aspect of what NMJM does is another way of being involved.  Examples are: men’s or women’s retreats/conferences;  the National Day of Prayer breakfast;  office support expenses/printing/mailing etc.;  web site maintenance.

Checks can be made out to “NMJM-GNMI” and sent to NMJM, PO Box 1400, Traverse City MI 49685.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call either Doug Van Dyke (231) 271-6081 or Lisa Lempke (231) 632-6656
